What campscan is

campscan watches sold-out Canadian campgrounds for the dates you pick and alerts you when a cancellation frees a matching site. It is a free service, currently in a friends-and-family beta. Alerts are best-effort: we check the booking systems as often as we reasonably can, but we don't control them.

No guarantees

Being honest about what an alert is — and isn't:

• We can't promise you a site. Cancellations are first-come, first-served on the park's own booking system, and they go fast. An alert means a site looked available when we checked — someone else may book it before you do.
• We can't promise every opening is caught, or caught instantly. Checks run on a schedule, booking systems change and occasionally break, and a site can open and disappear between checks.
• Availability data comes from the booking providers and may be wrong or stale through no fault of ours. Always confirm on the booking page before making plans.
• campscan is not affiliated with Parks Canada, any provincial parks agency, or any reservation provider.

Beta caveats

This is a beta run by one person for friends and family. Features may change or disappear, the service may be down without notice, and it may shut down entirely. If it ever winds down, we'll tell you and handle your data as the privacy notice describes.

Acceptable use

Use campscan for your own camping trips. Specifically, don't:

• hit the service with scripts, scrapers, or anything automated;
• probe, overload, or otherwise abuse it, or try to access other people's accounts or data;
• resell alerts or use the service commercially;
• use it in a way that abuses the underlying booking systems — their own terms still apply to your bookings.

Your account

Accounts are invite-only during the beta. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or endangers the service, and we may decline or revoke invites at our discretion. You can delete your account yourself at any time in Settings.

Liability

campscan is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, and it's free — so to the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for missed alerts, wrong availability information, missed bookings, or any other loss or damage arising from using (or being unable to use) the service. Where the law doesn't allow liability to be excluded entirely, it's limited to the amount you paid us: nothing.

Changes to these terms

If the terms change, we'll update the date at the top; if the change matters, we'll tell you and ask you to accept again. Continuing to use campscan after a change means you accept the new terms.
